WIND provides the Carrier Pre-selection service* free of charge to all existing and new subscribers of landline telephony.
If you choose the Carrier Pre-selection service, you can instantly make all your calls easily and fast, at the very advantageous rates of WIND.
Description
The Carrier Pre-selection service allows you to make all local (where available), long-distance, international calls and calls to mobile phones at WIND preferential rates, without dialing 1738.
Carrier Pre-selection is provided free of charge and is available for all landline telephony plans of WIND.
The Carrier Pre-selection service does not allow calls to three-digit and four-digit OTE numbers (with the exception of emergency numbers such as 100, 166, etc.), to numbers 90, 800, 801, 50, 70 and to national single call number/regional single call number, which will continue to be automatically routed to OTE network.
How to activate it
You just need to fill in an application form and send it to WIND. WIND will forward it to OTE for the final approval.
Information required for activation
In order to activate the service, the LEGAL OWNER of the OTE line (whose name is indicated on the OTE bill statement under "Customer Details"), for which you want the Carrier Pre-selection service, must fill in and sign the application form.
The application form will not be accepted in the following cases: incorrect personal details, application form already submitted to OTE for line disconnection or transfer, analog line, public telephone line.
How to use it
Once the Carrier Pre-selection service is activated, you just need to dial the number you wish to call, without the prefix 1738.
However, until this service is activated by OTE, it is important to dial 1738 before a call. In order to find out whether the Carrier Pre-selection service has been activated, you can call (without 1738) at 211 120 0000 - toll free - from the landline phone for which you have requested the service. You will be notified by a special automatic operator service.
Interactions with OTE or other landline telephony companies
By activating the Carrier Pre-selection service you do not terminate your subscription with ΟΤΕ. The Carrier Pre-selection service does not relieve you from any due payments to OTE (e.g. standard monthly fees, charge for calls made from OTE network). Your telephone number will continue to appear in OTE List of Subscribers and will be communicated by the "11888" service.
You can still use the services of OTE and other landline telephony companies by simply dialing the corresponding carrier selection code.
Time required for activation
Two days after receiving the customer's application form, WIND will forward it to OTE. It is not possible to specify the exact date when OTE will activate each application. Therefore, if you already use the 1738 services, you are advised to continue dialing the code until you make sure that the Carrier Pre-selection service has been activated, by calling 211 120 0000.
How to activate the service:
To activate the WIND Automatic Pre-selection, call 13800 from a landline phone 24 hours a day, or go to an authorized point of sale of WIND.
In case of early deactivation of the carrier pre-selection service (before the expiry of six months), the customer will incur a deactivation fee of EUR 11.9 per telephone number.
